Trading robot questions

  • How often do robots trade?

    We average one trade per day, but can easily go a full week without a trade. It is all depended from the markets. For us, less is definitely more. Our robots only trade the high probability setups.

  • I have not seen a trade for a week ....Is this normal?

    Yes, this is normal.

    Our robots average one trade per day, although it’s not uncommon for no trades to be made in a complete week. It’s all dependent upon the market. For us, less is definitely more.

  • Pink charts (Cable EA) say EA stopped....Is this normal?

    Yes, this is normal.

    Cable EA doesn't trade during US session so it will stop and restart trading the next day automatically . Also if ATR (Average True Range) is below 100 pips for GBP/USD or EUR/USD on Daily charts Cable robot will not trade and say 'EA stopped'.

  • I did not get any trades on Gunner this Monday?

    We don't get trades from Gunner every Monday. If there has been a small price movement in the previous week, we will not get any trades from Gunner. We need minimum 100 pip weekly movement + a good strong weekly close (no large wicks) for Gunner to open trades. Also if there is a large weekend gap it could be that our TP is hit before we get to enter the trade. If this is the case Gunner will cancel the trade (pending order) and wait for new opportunities next Monday.

  • Gunner is running on EUR/AUD chart but it opened trade on a different pair, Is this correct?

    Yes, Gunner trades all currency pairs selected in the robot settings, Not just the currency pair on Gunner chart.

  • My Gunner EA BUY orders did not get filled....When the chart shows that it should have filled?

    For BUY LIMIT orders to get filled you need the ASK price to hit your BUY LIMIT entry. By default MT4 only shows BID price on the charts, to get ASK price you need to add spread to BID price

  • Did robots double a trade?

    Satoshi robot splits a trade into 3 parts so you will see 3 orders with the same entry, Stop Loss, but different Take-Profits. If you see 6 same orders you have two the same charts open. Close down one of the charts.

    Cable robot splits trades into 4 parts (partial entries). If you have more than 4 open orders for Cable robot on a single currency pair you have two the same charts open. Close down one of the charts.

    Gunner and Fey robot should only have a single trade. If you have a double trade for Gunner or Fey robots you have two the same charts open. Close down one of the charts.

  • How to reset robots back to the original settings?

    If you accidentally changed the robot settings or removed robots from your charts by mistake you can revert back to the original pre-set robot settings by Right-Clicking on the chart, choose TEMPLATES and pick the necessary robot template.

  • On what time frame charts the robots should run? Can I change the time frames?

    Satoshi runs on Daily charts
    Gunner runs on Weekly charts
    Fey runs on 1-minute charts
    Cable runs on 1-minute charts
    DO NOT CHANGE THE CHART TIME FRAMES! This will result in totally different trades.

  • On what currency pairs the robots should run? Can I try other currency pairs?

    Satoshi runs on EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, AUD/USD, XAU/USD
    Gunner runs on EUR/AUD and GBP/AUD charts but will open trades on the currency pairs specified in the robot settings (EUR/USD, EUR/JPY, EUR/CAD, EUR/AUD, GBP/USD, GBP/JPY, GBP/AUD, GBP/CHF)
    Fey runs on EUR/USD
    Cable runs on GBP/USD and EUR/USD
    DO NOT ADD OTHER CURRENCY PAIRS! This will result in excessive risk on your account due to currency pair correlation. We regularly test all 27 currency pairs and pick only the best performing currency pairs that give us a well-balanced portfolio.

  • How can I know if I have updated to the latest robot version? Can I see the robot version somewhere?

    Right-Click on your robot chart and select EXPERT ADVISORS -> PROPERTIES, in the About tab, you will see the robot version you are running

Missed trade questions

  • Trade did not get copied to my account?

    Firstly remember that we're NOT a copy trade service. Every account runs individually with your own copy of trading robots, exactly the same ones we use.

    Reason #1
    You use different broker. Different brokers can have different prices, spreads, time zone settings or trading platform settings. This can lead to false signals. For this reason, we strongly recommend trading with the same brokers we use.

    Reason #2
    Even between our recommended brokers, there can be slight differences in trades. This is because even less than 1 pip price difference can mean a missed robot trade. Over time these differences even out. We don't have a single preferred broker. In general, our advice is to choose the broker that is the closest to your home country.

    Reason #3
    You did not update to the latest robot version before the market reopens in Sydney. We run robot updates over the weekends, so if we ask you to update the robots please do the update ASAP and before the market reopens in Sydney on Monday morning.

    Check that you have entered your master trading account password. DO NOT ENTER INVESTOR PASSWORD, the robots can't trade with investor password. Investor password is only for account monitoring.

    Your Auto-trading button is OFF. Auto-trading button is disabled automatically if you change trading account's or chart profiles or when robots are updated.

    Your MT4 trading platform was not running on the Evestin VPS. Every time you are exiting Evestin VPS remote control desktop make sure your MT4 trading platform keeps running on the server or otherwise robots can't take trades.     Check that your market watch has all 11 market symbols we trade EUR/USD, EUR/JPY, EUR/CAD, EUR/AUD, GBP/USD, GBP/JPY, GBP/AUD, GBP/CHF, AUD/USD, USD/JPY, XAU/USD. Choose the correct Evestin Forex for your account set by right-clicking on market watch and selecting 'Sets'

    You are trading on ECN trading account that has 'i' or 'pro' appendix to the market symbols but you have not changed to the ECN chart profile. Select the chart profile at File-> Profiles-> Evestin Forex PRO ecn

    Your MT4 trading platform has lost connection. In some rare cases, connection to your broker's server can be lost. If this has happened you will not see prices moving and you will have red bars in the right bottom corner and your trading platform will say 'No connection' To reconnect Go to File...Exit and close down your MT4 trading platform. Login back to Evestin VPS and your broker's connection will be back live. If this happens more than once please let us know and we can install an MT4 auto-restart robot for you.

    If you're trading with Oanda US broker, XAU/USD trading is not available. Furthermore, since US brokers are restricted by Hedging and FIFO rules, trades on Oanda broker can be slightly different than trades on European or Australian brokers.

    Reason #12
    Not enough funds. Make sure you have a min $10,000 in your trading account. Robots can't open trades with less than $100 risk per trade. So if you use standard 1% risk per trade and have less than $10,000 in your trading account robots will miss trades.

    Check for any errors in your MT4 trading platforms Experts and Journals tabs. If you find any errors please get in touch so we can investigate.

  • My trades do not match up with other user trades. What is the reason?

    Please check the possible reasons below.

    Reason #1

Forex broker questions

  • Which brokers do you recommend?
  • Can I use my existing trading account with one of your recommended brokers?

    Yes, you can. However, if you have an old history in your trading account we'll not be able to add your trading account to Evestin Forex trader portfolio and give you account performance stats. If you have one account with our recommended brokers it is very easy to open a second account for the purposes of robot trading. It is a good idea to keep a separate account just for robot trading.

  • Can I trade with a diffrenet broker?

    It is not recommended to trade with brokers we have not tested our systems with. Every Forex broker is different, they get different prices, different spreads, different time zone settings, different open/closes of the week, etc. For this reason, there can be different trades between different brokers. If you want to get the same trades use our recommended brokers

  • What leverage do I need?

    Our robots don't use high leverage, please choose 1:50 or 1:100 leverage.

  • What trading account type do I need?

    Standard Forex Live trading account is all you need.

  • Can I trade robots with Spread-betting account?

    No, spread-betting accounts are not advisable. Please use Standard Forex Live trading account.

  • What is the minimum deposit to start?

    Robots can't open trades with a risk less than $100 per trade, so you will need a minimum $5,000 in your trading account if you're risking 2% of your account per trade. If you're risking standard 1% per trade, min $10,000 account is needed. On average our traders start with $20,000

  • Can I trade multiple accounts at the same time?

    Standard Evestin Forex membership allows you to trade one MT4 trading platform and one Live or demo account at the one time. Additional licences can be purchased for reduced fee. Please contact us to purchase extra account licenses.

Trading platform questions

  • Do I need to download MT4 trading platfom to my computer?"

    No, this is not necessary. Your MT4 trading platform is installed on Evestin VPS. This way your MT4 trading platform will run 24/7 with the robots actually trading even when your computer is off.

  • My charts are stuck on "Waiting for updates...What do do?"

    Most likely your broker uses special appendix to the market symbols like '.i' or '.pro' try to change to ECN profile by going to FILE...PROFILES...EVESTIN FOREX PRO ECN

  • I have lost connection. The trading platform says "No connection", How to reconnect?

    To reconnect please restart the MT4 trading platform by going to FILE....EXIT. Then re-login back to Evestin VPS and you will be reconnected automatically. If you find that your trading platform is getting disconnected often, please get in touch and we can install an MT4 auto-restart robot for you.

  • I don't have Investor password. Where to get one?

    To Create an Investor password:
    1. Go to Tools -> Options
    2. In the Servers tab click Change password
    3. Enter your Master password in the top field
    4. Select change investor (read only) password
    5. Now enter new Investor password and press OK

Server Questions

  • Do I need to keep my computer on for robots to trade?"

    No, once you have setup and activated your robots on the VPS, you can close the VPS connection and shut down your computer. Your trading platform will continue to run on our server 24/7 with robots actively trading. Just make sure you don't close the MT4 trading platform down on our server.

  • Why was I disconnected from the VPS?

    VPS connection left idle for 1h will automatically disconnect to save server resources. Don't worry your MT4 trading platform continues to run on our server, there is no need to restart it.
